Drummer Hayden Scott has come a long way in the last few years. Hailing from Melbourne Australia, 2006 saw his departure from the Victorian College Of The Arts studying jazz to focus on his passion of playing in rock bands. He began working with a local indie rockers ‘Y’, within weeks of having Hayden in the band, they recorded an EP and submitted a single to Triple J radio station which won them the national ‘Unearthed’ title, this award first brought Silverchair to fame in 1994.
Some months later unsatisfied with the band’s efforts to tour, Hayden packed his bags and headed for LA where he landed the gig playing with Joe Firstman (Last Call With Carson Daily). After months of touring the US, Hayden was keen for more and determined to discover new acts. During the latter part of 2007 Hayden began working with local post-punk rockers Sub Rosa. They worked together writing and recording an album entitled ‘Here In Filth’ which will see release in the Spring of 2009.
Starting January 2008 Hayden began working with The Oohlas (Island/Def-Jam). Working solely as a live drummer, he was eventually invited by their guitarist and former drummer for Everclear to record songs for their EP “Chinchilla”, which will be released January 26th 2009.
As of late Hayden has found himself working with Ilan Rubin on his solo project, The New Regime. The debut record was released November 18th 2008, the band have made only few appearances as it stands to be a side-project for front-man Ilan while he begins work with Nine Inch Nails in 2009.
Most recently Hayden has been touring with English solo artist Pop Levi. After only a handful of shows together, the band began writing and recording a new album with producer Travis Huff (Fall Out Boy, Yellowcard). The aforementioned record is only in it’s initial stages but a single will be released in January 2009 coinciding with a West Coast tour supporting Fujiya Miyagi.
Hayden is has been described as a versatile, strong and consistent drummer. He has made quite an impression on those that he has worked with so far and only hopes to continue building a profile in The United States, both as a session drummer and performer.
